HOW TO TAKE CHARGE of what you listen to, focus on, think, and feel

“Consider the joy of accepting that no one, ever, can control your emotional state.  Think of the freedom this will bring you.  Your happiness is no longer under the control of what other people say and do!”

“If you think that another person can make you angry or afraid, you have given that person power over you.  In other words, your anger or fear is actually a form of dependency.  But when you drop this belief that someone else can make you feel anger, or fear, or any other emotion, you are in charge of your own state.”

These two quotes are from my book, IT'S A FREAKIN' MESS: How to Thrive in Divisive Times. The quotes suggest both the struggle and the solution, and the book highlights this journey: how do we develop that strength of being so that our state of mind and emotion is determined by us and not by the haphazard chances of our changing circumstances, over which we have limited or no control?

Thanks to all of you who have made comments on my book. It’s so helpful for me to know what you think. Many people have written to ask me if I would do an audio version of this book. Some said they  prefer listening over reading, and some said they just love to listen to audiobooks while driving or doing routine tasks at home. I can relate to this — I don’t even mind traffic jams when I’m engrossed in a good audiobook!

I'm happy and proud to tell you that the audiobook of IT'S A FREAKIN' MESS: How to Thrive in Divisive Times is now out!  It is a full version of the written book, read by me and published on many platforms, including Audible, Apple Books, and Google Play. I’m hoping you’ll find it engrossing enough to enjoy traffic jams.
